Emanuel
and Tande win again in Stavanger
Stavanger, 8 July - Brazilian
combination Emanuel/Tande dominated the
Men's Norway Open in Stavanger,
progressing through the preliminary rounds
undefeated before taking the final against
the Laciga-brothers from Switzerland 2-0
(21-19,21-15). The Brazilians only dropped
one set in three days of competition.
Compatriots
Loiola/Ricardo however, were not in the
same form, unexpectedly bowing-out of the
tournament early with two consecutive
losses. Firstly to Swedish combination and
22nd seeds, Berg and Dahl 2-0
(21-15, 21-18), then to Olympic Champions
Blanton/Fonomoiana, USA in their second
match, 2-1 (21-15, 12-21, 20-18).
Paul
and Martin Laciga have now competed in
every final this season, but are still to
taste victory. They are determined however
that their time will come. Ze Marco/Para
of Brazil defeated the perennial World
Tour Canadian team of Child/Heese for
third place.
