German Team |
The German Women’s Junior U20 team will be very well
prepared for the World
Championship in Thailand having used a number of
pre-tournament training
courses to get them into the perfect frame of mind. Moreover,
all of the team
bar two, played in the first league of the 2002/2003 season
as the team of VC
Olympia Sinsheim.
The result and the effort of coach Rudi Sonnenbichler and
his team was
excellent. During the preliminary round they recorded five
victories,
including a 3-1 win over USC Münster, who were unbeaten
until that game.
The whole project was a brain child of the German Volleyball
Federation in
order to assist Germany’s rising players through a smoother
transition to
international Volleyball.
So far the results have been encouraging with the team
looking to have gelled
well and displayed a keen spirit to impress at the World
Championship.
Previous results:
1st place at the Youth Olympic Games
2nd place at the Eight Nations tournament 2001
4th place at the Youth European Continental Championship
2001 8th place at the 2002 Junior European Continental
Championship
