Hosts Japan, the continental champions from four or five confederations based on results and a wild card come together for these quadrennial round-robin competition for men and women. The hosts and television partner NTV produce a stunning volleyball spectacle to see who are the champions of champions. The last edition of the tournament was in 2009. Brazil came away with the men's title for the second consecutive time after remaining unbeaten while in the women's tournament, Italy picked up their first ever crown. |
