2017 Club Worlds hosts end year with Empress' Cup title
Hisamitsu Springs celebrate Empress's Cup in Japan, ahead of hosting the 2017 FIVB Club World Championship next May.
NEC Red Rockets of Kawasaki, the only other team already confirmed to take part in the 2017 Club World Championship (as the reigning Asian champions) were knocked out of the Empress's Cup in the semifinals by Hisamitsu Springs 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 27-25, 25-22).
In addition to Hisamitsu Springs and NEC Red Rockets, the 2017 FIVB Club World Championship will feature the continental champions of Europe and South America, as well as four wild cards to be determined.

In a thrilling men's Emperor's Cup final Toray Arrows defeated Toyoda Gosei Trefuerza 3-2 (25-22, 25-20, 21-25, 24-26, 22-20) to claim their third title in the history of the event and their first since 2013.
