Good governance and transparency - core to the FIVB's continued success

 

The FIVB Legal Commission came together via videoconference on Monday

Lausanne, Switzerland, December 11, 2018 – The FIVB Legal Commission came together via videoconference on Monday, to discuss the latest FIVB legal matters and ensure that all legal affairs continue to follow the federation’s principles of transparency and good governance.

The Commission spoke about amendments to the FIVB regulations, including the FIVB Constitution, the FIVB Sports Regulations, Beach Volleyball Regulations, and others. It also listened to the report of the FIVB Legal and Transfers Department.

The Commission’s President, Jaime Lamboy, and its Secretary, Vasavan Samuel, utilised the FIVB’s videoconference platform for the first time to speak remotely with members of the Commission, implementing the technology to ensure practical methods of communication and engagement.


FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° said: “The FIVB is following the principles of good governance and transparency on all the levels of its work and we need to continue this practice for the benefit of our sport and its integrity. We are constantly working to improve the FIVB regulations, using the best practice within sport and outside. The FIVB Legal Commission is critical in ensuring we remain credible and trustworthy for our partners.”

A series of FIVB Commissions will meet over the coming months, with the FIVB Rules of the Game and Refereeing Commission and Medical Commission meetings this week, on December 12 and 13 respectively.
