Kramarenko/Myskiv beat top seeds to reach Bangkok quarterfinals


Russia's Taras Myskiv and partner Aleksandr Kramarenko are through to the quarterfinals of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Bangkok 1-star

Bangkok, Thailand, May 11, 2018 – Russia’s Aleksandr Kramarenko and Taras Myskiv stunned Thai top seeds Nuttanon Inkiew/Sedtawat Padsawud to breeze into the quarterfinals of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Bangkok 1-star.

Kramarenko/Myskiv, who emerged from the qualification round with two wins, came up with two more victories on Friday. 

In their first match, they defeated Hong Kong’s Kelvin Lau/Pui Lam Wong 2-0 (21-16, 21-14). The Russian pair overcame their loss in the first set and completed the three-set win against I. Nuttanon/P. Sedtawat 2-1 (17-21, 21-17, 15-8) in Pool A.

Australia's Tim Dickson/Marcus Ferguson topped Pool B after prevailing in two three-set matches against Japan’s Yuya Ageba/Katsuhiro Shiratori 2-1 (22-20, 12-21, 15-12) and Germany’s Armin Dollinger/Simon Kulzer 2-1 (21-17, 19-21, 20-18.

In Pool C, Japan's Yusuke Ishijima/Takumi Takahashi delivered steady performances to outplay their compatriots Yoshiumi Haswegawa/Keisuke Shimizu 2-0 (21-16, 22-20) and Sweden's Martin Appelgren/Simon Boman 2-0 (22-20, 21-10).

Austria's Daniel Mullner/Florian Schnetzer crushed both their European opponents in straight sets in Pool D. The Austrians beat Germany’s Paul Becker/Eric Stadie 2-0 (21-8, 21-17) and Spain’s Alejandro Huerta/Javier Huerta 2-0 (21-15, 21-19).
