Lithuanians, Japanese, Austrians off to easy start at Jinjiang
Japan's Yoshiumi Hasegawa and partner Keisuke Shimizu cruised to an easy victory to reach the main draw of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Jinjiang 2-star
All 10 pairs entered in the first qualification round passed through with a bye that gave Germany’s Armin Dollinger/Simon Kulzer and Russia’s Petr Bakhnar/Yury Bogatov another free pass to the main draw.
In the second round matchups, Vasiljev/Juchnevic, Hasegawa/Shimizu, Friedl Fe./Trummer and Israel’s Shani Cohen/Netanel Ohana succeeded in securing the remaining spots in the main draw.
Vasiljevic/Juchnevic defeated Japanese tandem Yu Koshikawa/Koichi Nishimura 2-0 (21-17, 21-12), but Hasegawa/Shimizu avenged their compatriots’ loss as they beat Chinese duo Linghang Jiang/Xu Yuan 2-0 (21-13, 21-15).
