Musical Ambassadors named for World Cup in Japan

 

The FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup will take place from August 22 through to September 6. It will be followed by the Men's World Cup from September 8-23.

Tokyo, Japan, March 2, 2015 - Japanese band Sexy Zone have been named Musical Ambassadors of the FIVB Volleyball World Cup 2015.

A ceremony and press conference were held at Yoyogi National Stadium, one of the venues of this year's event. Sexy Zone’s Kento Nakajima, Shori Sato and Fuma Kikuchi discussed their appointment with members of the press.

Kento commented: "Sexy Zone debuted in 2011 and have worked at volleyball events ever since. We will work hard to share our passion for the sport with the competition's audiences."

Fuma was enthusiastic about the challenge: "Our goal is to show how exciting volleyball is and share our passion with fans on-site and watching the competition on television."

During the World Cup, Sexy Zone will appear on court before Japan's matches. They will also announce players as they enter the court.

The Women's World Cup will take place from August 22 through to September 6. It will be followed by the Men's World Cup from September 8-23.
