Slovenia and Sweden to duel in Siofok women’s final

Siofok, Hungary, August 25, 2018 – Slovenia’s Tjasa Jancar and Tjasa Kotnik and Sweden’s Sara Cavretti and Sofia Wahlen will duel in the women’s final of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Siofok 1-star, following their respective tie-break triumphs on Saturday.



Jancar and Kotnik easily beat top-seeded Inna and Iryna Makhno of Ukraine in the quarterfinals 2-0 (21-12, 21-16) to progress to the semifinals with Sweden’s Cavretti and Wahlen, Poland’s Agata Ceynowa and Martyna Kloda, and Japan’s Satono Ishitsubo and Asami Shiba.

In their semifinals, Jancar and Kotnik rallied from a set down to win over Japanese pair Ishitsubo/Shiba 2-1 (17-21, 21-19, 15-10), while Cavretti and Wahlen recovered from the setback in the second set to win 2-1 (21-19, 14-21, 15-11) against Polish duo Ceynowa Kloda.
