World Grand Champions Cup: Brazil record straight-set win over France


Brazil avenged their loss to 2017 FIVB Volleyball World League Finals nemesis France in the tournament opener of the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup in Nagoya

Nagoya, Japan, September 12, 2017 – Defending champions Brazil opened the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Grand Champions Cup with a 3-0 (27-25, 27-25, 25-22) win against France.

The last time Brazil defeated France was in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games preliminary round with a 3-1 scoreline. Brazil have won four of the previous six editions of the World Grand Champions Cup. They have lost only one of their last 18 World Grand Champions Cup matches.

The Men’s World Grand Champions Cup features a total of six teams that play in a round-robin tournament from September 12 to 17. Nagoya and Osaka host the seventh edition of the tournament.
