Bangkok, Thailand, December 18, 2016 – The AVC Sports Management Seminar came to a successful conclusion at the Dusit Princess Srinakarin Hotel in Bangkok on Sunday.
The three-day seminar, which was held from Friday to Sunday, was aimed at offering an overview of the key tasks national federations might need to understand before they organise competitions.
FIVB Honorary Life President Wei Jizhong and Ramon Suzara, Chairman of the AVC Development & Marketing Committee, were the seminar instructors.
AVC Secretary-General Shanrit Wongprasert was also invited as a guest speaker on the “Organisation of AVC Competitions” (indoor and beach volleyball) and procedures and preparation required for AVC organisers before hosting championships.
After the first two days of lectures, those attending – representatives from 16 national federations, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Maldives, Myanmar and New Zealand – were split into groups to exchange their points of view on constructive outcomes for the AVC Development & Marketing Committee.
Those attending the seminar were informed about changes in FIVB structures and how to remain up to date with all aspects of the AVC and FIVB. They were schooled in how to communicate and collaborate with both bodies particularly through online means in order to improve their understanding of national federation structures.
All those attending were presented with certificates on Sunday, and this was followed by the closing ceremony.
