As part of the activities celebrating the city´s anniversary, Salvador will host the first edition of Super Sacada, a volleyball event created and organised by Instituto Vencer.

Inspired by the Dutch tournament Hajraa Buitentoernooi, Super Sacada will feature 100 volleyball courts along the coast in Salvador for a whole day dedicated to amateur volleyball. The event, which will also include an area for sitting volleyball, aims to gather over 4000 people aged 12 and above. It will be attended by Brazilian champions Montanaro and Nalbert.

Sponsored exclusively by SporTV through the Brazilian Federal Sports Incentive Law, Super Sacada is the only sports event on the schedule of activities celebrating the city´s anniversary. The project has the international cooperation of the Hajraa tournament and the institutional support of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV), the Volleyball Federation of Bahia (FBV), the Municipality of Salvador, and Muzy Corp, responsible for fundraising.

To participate, interested parties should complete the registration form available on the event’s website. Participants aged 12 to 16 years can also register for the SporTV Volleyball School which will offer lessons in the basic skills of volleyball, assisted by Olympic and world champion Nalbert.

The event in Salvador also benefits from the support of Jorge Amado University Center - Unijorge. As a result of the partnership, over 500 students and teachers from physical education, nutrition, physical therapy and nursing courses will be trained by the Volleyball Federation of Bahia to participate as volunteers at the event. The volunteers will be offering guidance on volleyball skills and on health and well-being.

Super Sacada will leave an important legacy for the children and young people of the state of Bahia. After the event, equipment will be donated to public schools of the city of Salvador and to schools and projects of the Volleyball Federation of Bahia.

Super Sacada General Director Jorge Muzy said: "Our main goal is to leave a legacy for the children and youth of Salvador. With the donation of 100 per cent of the equipment purchased, you can increase the practice of volleyball in schools and social projects and, perhaps, discover new talents for the national team.”
