President Graça visits FeVA on eve of FIVB Congress


President Graça praised the unity of the Argentina Volleyball Federation and its President Antonio Gutierrez and said Argentina can be among the five best teams in the world in a few years

Buenos Aires, Argentina, October 3, 2016 – FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° made an historic visit to Argentina Volleyball Federation’s ‘FeVA in Motion Centre’ and got a warm welcome from its president Juan Antonio Gutierrez and key officials of the national federation on the eve of the 35th FIVB World Congress on Monday.

President Graça shared his ideas and spoke with the leaders of the 24 affiliated members of the national federation, as well as the referees, coaches and former national team players.

He was pleased with the unity of the affiliated members and urged the leaders to maintain great cooperation with each other because it is key to development.

“The FeVA unity shows a very strong image of Argentine volleyball,” President Graça said. “Argentina can be among the five best teams in the world in a few years.”

FeVA made a video presentation on the creation of the Volleyball High Performance Centre, which is located at the Chapadmalal Tourism Complex. 

“Argentina will have significant growth in all aspects if they continue to work well in the next three years,” President Graça said. “The Performance Centre is a huge step towards that direction.”

The FIVB Development Centre in Argentina also received praise from President Graça, recognising the continuous work in training and development of volleyball throughout Latin America since 2010, under the leadership of Gabriel Salvia.

President Graça was likewise pleased with the short presentation of some leaders on the upcoming events and projects of the national federation. 

“These events and projects are aimed at strengthening Argentine volleyball,” President Graça. “I am pleased with these undertakings and with the great teamwork you are showing.”
