FIVB President continues to explore opportunities in United States market
Fort Lauderdale winners Barbara and Fernanda thank President Graça for his continued support
The meetings provided the FIVB President and players alike with an opportunity to discuss and share ideas on the future of beach volleyball. The FIVB President also met with the Mayor of Fort Lauderdale John P. "Jack" Seiler, who confirmed the city’s interest in hosting the event next year. The tournament is the focus of considerable media interest and is welcomed by the local community and international guests.
USA Volleyball CEO Jamie Davis and Board of Directors Chairperson Lori Okimura also met with the FIVB President in Fort Lauderdale to discuss developments related to a national league and the further growth of volleyball and beach volleyball in the United States.
Speaking about his meetings in the USA, the FIVB President said:
“It is important for the FIVB to be continuously present in the USA market with the country being a core nation of the FIVB Nucleus Project. In Fort Lauderdale I had a great opportunity to talk with various professionals on the development of volleyball in the USA.”
“Of course, I spoke a lot with the athletes and USA Volleyball. It was also great to talk with Hannes Jagerhofer, CEO of the Beach Majors Company. We discussed upcoming events as well as the 2019 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Hamburg, Germany.”
The FIVB President completed his stay in Fort Lauderdale by meeting with technology companies and potential investors as the FIVB continues to look for innovative ways of enhancing its events around the world and attracting new business partners.
President Ary Graça will continue discussions with USA Volleyball when he attends their Board of Directors meeting in May.
