The FIVB has organised a special mentoring programme for senior staff members of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) this week to share knowledge and best practices of operations across various areas.
In attendance at the FIVB Headquarters are CAVB General Manager Brahim Boulami, Executive Director Gilberto Amauri de Godoy Filho “Giba”, Director of Administration Abdelatif Obad, Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs Hajar Benbrahim, Head of Press Anis Said and Director of Finance Charaf Berda.
The three-day mentoring programme got underway today with welcome remarks from FIVB General Director Fabio Azevedo:
“We welcome our CAVB colleagues to the FIVB Headquarters. It is our pleasure to share knowledge and expertise on event management, volleyball development, empowerment and administration. This special mentoring programme for CAVB staff members was designed following the request of the CAVB President, Mrs Bouchra Hajij, who is committed to promoting best practices within CAVB and growing the entire volleyball ecosystem in Africa. The doors of the FIVB Headquarters are always open to members of the global Volleyball Family and we are always happy to serve our Continental Confederations, National Federations, athletes and members of the worldwide Volleyball Family.”
CAVB President Bouchra Hajij said:
“We thank the FIVB for arranging a special mentoring programme for the CAVB senior staff. I am sure that the knowledge they bring back to Africa will be beneficial to all the African National Federations and improve the processes within the CAVB administration.”
The CAVB mentoring programme will run from 10 to 12 May and include such areas as finance, legal affairs and transfers, administration and communications, volleyball and beach volleyball events, as well as general Volleyball Information System (VIS) training.
