After securing bronze at the previous World Tour events, the Argentina women’s team are ready to achieve success on home soil.

“We know it’s a big deal after what we experienced in Europe,” Argentina player Julieta Puntin said. “It has been a challenge and we have taken it seriously from the beginning. We have gathered some great experience and we want to show it here.”

Her teammate, Virginia Zonta, is no stranger to major volleyball events, having represented Argentina in beach volleyball at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Zonta also expressed what it meant for her to play in front of a home crowd: “We are highly motivated. We had a great time in Europe, but playing at home in front of our families, friends and fans will be fantastic. We dream of another medal; we know it’s a long road there but we have prepared a lot for this.”

Cecilia Peralta expressed her excitement to have snow volleyball in the Southern Hemisphere.

“I’m super excited! It’s going to be great to feel the support of our people at such a lovely place as Bariloche. We aim to finish as high as possible; we are aware of the level of the other teams but we have some confidence after what we have done in Europe and we plan to use it in our favour.”
