Beach Volleyball Qualification Tournament gets underway in Punta Cana

The double gender NORCECA event is taking place in the Dominican Republic from 16 to 17 April

The double gender Santo Domingo Beach Volleyball Qualification Tournament to the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships 2022 gets underway today in the capital of the Dominican Republic with action taking place from 16-17 April.

The event courts were inspected earlier in the week by Daymian Stewart, the NORCECA delegate who presides over the control committee for the two-day competition.

El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and the United States are fielding men’s and women’s. Costa Rica and Jamaica are being represented in the women’s event while Cuba and Puerto Rico have teams in the men’s competition. To check out the teams, click here.

These teams have been divided into two pools of three teams each with the top two advancing to the semifinals. The two winners will receive automatic tickets to the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Italy from 10 to 19 June 2022.

The competition will officially kick off at 14:00 (local time) on Saturday 16 April with all the action from the pool stage of the competition. The semifinals and finals scheduled on Easter Sunday. Follow the NORCECA website for more information.
