Draw sets up electrifying clashes at Netherlands-Poland 2022

Twenty-four teams learn opponents and venues at the Women's World Championship from September 23 to October 15

Co-hosts the Netherlands will welcome the teams of Italy, Belgium, Puerto Rico, Cameroon and Kenya to Arnhem for the matches in Pool A of the FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship 2022, following the draw that was held in Lausanne on Thursday to define the pool composition and venues for the first stage of the tournament.

The 24 participating teams were drawn into four pools of six each. They will all play their first games at the GelreDome in Arnhem, before the participants in Pools B and C transfer to the Polish cities of Gdansk and Lodz, respectively. Pools A and D will stay in Arnhem.

The other co-hosts, Poland will get their World Championship campaign started in the company of Turkey, the Dominican Republic, Korea, Thailand and Croatia, drawn into Pool B.

Last year’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic champions and current FIVB World Ranking leaders USA headline Pool C, which also features defending 2018 world champions Serbia, while the world’s number two, South American champs Brazil lead the line-up in Pool D.
