FIVB mourns passing of FIVB Instructor Mr Evangelos Koutouleas

Dedicated and respected FIVB Instructor Mr Evangelos Koutouleas sadly passed away last weekend

The FIVB was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr Evangelos Koutouleas, an FIVB Instructor for volleyball and beach volleyball.

Mr Koutouleas was a respected member of the global Volleyball Family and served the development of volleyball for many years as an athlete, coach and FIVB Instructor.

Prior to his nomination as an FIVB Instructor, Mr Koutouleas served as Head Coach of the Cyprus Volleyball Federation’s beach volleyball programme, and later became the Head Coach of Volleyball England’s women’s beach volleyball programme. Before becoming a national team head coach, he represented Greece internationally as part of the national beach volleyball and volleyball teams, and also coached various adult and junior teams.

Since 2020, Mr Koutouleas conducted several FIVB Coaches Courses for both volleyball and beach volleyball as an FIVB Instructor and also mentored newly appointed FIVB Instructors. He was respected and loved by his fellow FIVB Instructors for his generosity and knowledge sharing, by National Federations involved in FIVB Coaches Courses for his proactive collaboration, and by the participants for his professional and enthusiastic teaching.

He will be dearly missed by the volleyball community, and the FIVB joins the global Volleyball Family in extending its deepest condolences to Mr Evangelos Koutouleas’ family and friends at this time of great sorrow.
