The meeting took place in the Olympic House
The FIVB President, Dr Ary S. Graça F°, met his IOC counterpart, Dr Thomas Bach, in the Olympic House earlier today to update him on the latest FIVB activities and discuss plans for the future.
When addressing the topic of the global COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on sport, the FIVB President said:
“From the start of the pandemic, the FIVB has placed the health and wellbeing of all our stakeholders as our top priority and this has been reflected in all the decisions we have taken. Thanks to the FIVB’s strong financial position, we have been able to continue supporting our players and National Federations through the FIVB Athletes’ Relief Support fund and the FIVB Projects Platform 2020.”
The two leaders also addressed a number of other important topics, including the beach volleyball Olympic qualification system, FIVB digital transformation and the use of new technology, as well as the concepts of some recently held beach volleyball events.
