Today’s meeting was focused on upcoming events in Italy and future hosting opportunities
FIVB President Dr Ary S Graça F° today met the President of the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV), Giuseppe Manfredi, at the FIVB Headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland to discuss upcoming events in Italy and future opportunities.
The meeting was also attended by European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Vice-President and FIVB Executive Vice-President Renato Arena, FIPAV General Secretary Stefano Bellotti and FIVB General Director Fabio Azevedo among others.
During the meeting, discussions were focused on future event hosting opportunities and the upcoming Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Finals due to be hosted in Bologna on 20-24 July 2022. Additionally, the volleyball leaders discussed the potential opportunity for Italy to join Poland and Slovenia as co-hosts of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship 2022.
Following the meeting, the FIVB President said:

With Italy being a strong volleyball nation and regularly hosting our major events, it is important to continue our strategic discussions on future opportunities for our sport in the country. Italian fans are passionate about volleyball and we look forward to working together with FIPAV to bring even more spectacular volleyball action to them.”
FIPAV President Giuseppe Manfredi said:
“We are very satisfied with the outcome of this meeting. The Italian Volleyball Federation wants to strengthen its collaboration with the FIVB, as demonstrated by the organisation of this year’s Men's VNL Finals in Casalecchio di Reno, Bologna. During the meeting we also explored the possibility of Italy organising a part of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship 2022, and we will continue our assessment on whether the necessary conditions are in place to host such a prestigious event this year.”
