FIVB President meets with Volleyball Federation of Senegal President

FIVB development support for the National Federation was among the key topics discussed

FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° today welcomed Amadou Seye, President of the Volleyball Federation of Senegal, to the FIVB Headquarters to discuss potential event hosting opportunities and the FIVB coaching support that has been provided to help Senegal develop a strong and competitive youth beach volleyball team.

Meeting was held at the FIVB Headquarters

Amadou Seye was accompanied by the high-performance beach volleyball coach, France’s Francois Winograd, who was appointed to lead the FIVB coaching support programme for 12 months. The main objective of the project is to develop a strong youth national beach volleyball team ahead of the Youth Olympic Games 2026 which is set to be hosted in Dakar, Senegal.

Following the meeting, the FIVB President said:

“At today’s meeting we were able to discuss the recent developments in beach volleyball in Senegal, particularly as the FIVB-appointed coach has already been working there for six months. We also discussed some beach volleyball hosting opportunities for Senegal as the country prepares to host the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026.

“I was pleased to receive some positive news about the results of the coaching support, so we have approved one more year of coaching support to Senegal and the contract has been signed accordingly.”

The FIVB has supported the Volleyball Federation of Senegal since 2017, including equipment support, namely Mikasa balls, as well as a three-month coaching support project in 2019 before committing to a 12-month coaching support project in 2021.
