The FIVB Board of Administration met via video conference
Lausanne, Switzerland, November 2, 2020 – FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° today opened the FIVB Board of Administration meeting which was held via video conference to protect the health and wellbeing of all participants.
During his address to the Board of Administration, the FIVB President again praised the successful Continental Confederation elections which saw the election of two female Presidents for the first time in volleyball’s history:
“I am particularly delighted and honoured to welcome our first-ever female Continental Confederation Presidents, Bouchra Hajij and Rita Subowo, to the global Volleyball Family. Volleyball is a gender balanced sport by nature, and the FIVB is committed to ensuring that women are represented both on and off the field of play. This marks an important milestone of progress, not only within our beloved sport, but also in the wider global sports community. I wish both of you the greatest of success, and I have no doubt that you will work tirelessly to further develop volleyball in your regions and around the world.
FIVB President joined the meeting from the FIVB HQs
“Of course, I would also like to congratulate Rafael Lloreda, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz and Aleksandar Boričić on their successful re-elections at the helm of their Continental Confederations. Your re-elections show that you have already done a good job and truly deserve it. I know you will all continue to lead your Confederations to great success.”
Additionally, during the first day of the meeting, a number of important topics were discussed, including the FIVB Legal and Finance presentations. The meeting is set to continue tomorrow with updates on the FIVB’s future events and the review of various proposals of FIVB Commissions at the top of the agenda.
