Future opportunities discussed as FIVB President holds further meetings with Asian National Federations

One-on-one meetings took place during the VNL 2022 pool in the Philippines

FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° today continued his productive week in the Philippines as he met with three more Asian National Federations (NFs) – Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Mongolia.

The meetings with the NFs’ leadership were also attended by Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) President Rita Subowo, FIVB General Director Fabio Azevedo, FIVB Director for Asia and Oceania Luis Alexandre Pontes Rodrigues and FIVB Head of Technical and Development Steve Tutton.

The discussions were focused on the plans and challenges of the NFs, as well as the opportunities the FIVB has to support them in boosting the development of volleyball and beach volleyball on the continent in alignment with the AVC President.

The NFs were represented by Mr Kinzang Wangdi, Bhutan Volleyball Federation Vice-President, Mr Chingarid Tsogtbaatar, Mongolian Volleyball Association President and Mr A.S. Nalaka, Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation General Secretary.

Following the meetings, the FIVB President said:

“It was a great pleasure to meet with more National Federations here in the Philippines and listen first hand to their challenges and future plans. We outlined once again all the opportunities available for our 222 National Federations and encouraged the National Federations to apply for various types of support via the FIVB’s Volleyball Empowerment programme.”

The FIVB delegation also had an opportunity to enjoy the VNL 2022 pool match between France and Japan before attending the Philippines National Volleyball Federation’s Presidential dinner in honour of FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F°.
