Volleyball player Maksim Ivliev has accepted the FIVB’s sanction for anti-doping rule violation. Mr Ivliev thereby acknowledged that the prohibited substance Dehydrochlormethyltestosterone (“DHCMT”) was found in his sample taken during out-of-competition test on 20 November 2013 in violation of Article 2.2 of the FIVB Medical and Anti-Doping Regulations applicable at the time.
As a result, he has been sanctioned with a period of ineligibility of two (2) years starting on 20 April 2023 and ending on 19 April 2025.
The case is part of investigations that the FIVB started after the World Anti-Doping Agency provided data and doping test samples collected from the Moscow Laboratory.
The FIVB is committed to protecting clean athletes and maintains a zero-tolerance approach to doping.
