Brazilian residents were given another chance to snap up tickets to the quadrennial; and as of the afternoon of February 2, tickets for one of the women’s volleyball quarterfinals are still available, while in the men’s competition, only tickets for the group stage remain. The men’s and women’s volleyball finals are already sold out. Meanwhile, beach volleyball only had tickets left up to the quarterfinals.

The opening and closing ceremonies are the most in-demand tickets, while volleyball and beach volleyball ranks among the most in-demand sport disciplines.

More tickets are set to become available to Brazilian residents through the ticket resale programme, which Rio 2016 launched last October.

About 500,000 tickets went on sale last January 21 and 22, and more than 250,000 tickets had been sold on January 24.

In total, about 7.5 million tickets for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will be put on sale. Click here to view and download the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Ticketing Guide, which has the full details of the ticket sales process.
