Saudi Arabia continues to develop volleyball through Level I Coaches Course

38 coaches joined the Level I Coaches Course

The Saudi Arabian Volleyball Federation (KSA) recently hosted a FIVB Level I Coaches Course at the Riyadh Leaders Training Centre as it continues to develop volleyball in the country.

The course was held from 18 to 25 June and was conducted by FIVB Instructor and Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Coaches Committee Member Shihab Aldin Ahmed from Oman and National Instructor Khalid Ammar.

A total of 38 coaches, from former national players to physical education teachers and school, university and club coaches, participated in theoretical and practical sessions that involved fundamental volleyball subjects, coaching skills, physical conditioning, training and the basics of mini-volleyball.

KSA President Dr Khalid Al-Zughaibi said:

“On behalf of the KSA, I would like to thank FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° and the FIVB Development Department for their support. We were also delighted to welcome FIVB Instructor Shihab Aldin Ahmed who has a lot of experience in volleyball coaching programmes.

“The KSA is looking to increase the number of qualified coaches through FIVB Coaches Courses in the future. These courses are a great and worthwhile way to improve the coaches’ understanding of volleyball.”
