Snow Volleyball European Tour headed to Ukraine and Turkey

Ukraine to host its first Snow Volleyball event and Turkey awarded second stop of the season

The European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) has announced that Ukraine will make history by hosting its very first Snow Volleyball European Tour stop in February this year, while Turkey will host a second tour stop in March.

Truskavets (Ukraine) and Kayseri-Erciyes (Turkey) join Taraviso (Italy) and Kahramanmaras (Turkey) as the confirmed stops on the Snow Volleyball European Tour this year.

Truskavets is a city in the Lviv Region, in western Ukraine. It is a natural home for Snow Volleyball due to the beautiful snowy winter landscapes and popularity of winter sports locally. Truskavets will be hosting the tour from 25-27 February, one week after the season opener in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey.

Ukraine has already achieved success in Snow Volleyball. Their men’s team notably won bronze and gold medals in back-to-back European Tour events last year in Wagrain, beating an all-star Russian team including the 2018 Snow Volleyball European champion Ruslan Daianov.

Kayseri-Erciyes, a popular ski resort, will return to host a European Tour event for the first time since 2019

Kayseri-Erciyes, a popular northern Turkish ski resort, which previously hosted the CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour in 2019, 2018 and 2017, will host a tour stop on 18-20 March.

Turkey continues to embrace Snow Volleyball, as it has done since the very early days of the sport. It is therefore no surprise that Turkish Snow Volleyball players have achieved great success already, for example Bugra Eryildiz and Aleyna Vence were crowned ‘Queens of the Snow’ in 2018 before claiming silver at the inaugural #EuroSnowVolley held in Austria.

This season, both genders will be competing for prize money of € 3,000 in the Snow Volleyball European Tour.
