Thailand’s next generation takes the stage

Lausanne, Switzerland, November 14, 2020 – Pornpun Guedpard, Chatchu-on Moksri, Ajcharaporn Kongyot, Pimpichaya Kokram and Thatdao Nuekjang (left to right above) are Thailand’s rising stars. Remember their names as they take centre stage in their country's ambitious plans for the future.

Coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai integrated these younger players into the squad as early as the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in Italy, with the aim of adding more spark to the Thailand core.

The team defied expectations as Thailand continued to grow stronger, claim medals at Asian continental competitions and strengthen their hold on success at a global level.

With continuous training and exposure to international competitions, the young Thai quintet have gained valuable experience that has given the team a new spirit and drive to conquer more success.

The collective effort put in by these younger athletes is a tribute to the work done by their predecessors. Their successes at continental and world competitions follow on from the accomplishments of their respected elders, the 'Fab Five'.

And now, a perfect mix of veterans who provide great advice and youngsters who bring enthusiasm and new passion creates a powerful dynamic on the court.

Thailand’s future as a team is taking shape. Keep an eye on our stories over the next few weeks as we feature each player of Thailand’s new generation of stars in a five-part series.
