38th FIVB World Congress concludes with strong message of unity from FIVB President

The 38th FIVB World Congress concluded yesterday with a strong message of unity from FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° as he again urged National Federations (NFs) to work with the FIVB and plan the development of the sport in their countries.

In what was a fitting end to the first FIVB World Congress in-person since the 2018 edition in Cancun, the FIVB President highlighted the even brighter future ahead for the sport thanks to the unity of the Volleyball Family.

“So again, dear National Federations, thank you for your unwavering commitment to volleyball, thank you for your support. It is my great honour to serve as your President. It is the strong, united spirit of the global Volleyball Family that inspires me to work harder and harder, to make volleyball stronger, to make you stronger, and to keep supporting and empowering you,” said FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F°.

A number of key announcements were made during day three of the Congress, including Australia as the host of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships 2025. The event now has a strong line-up of host nations for upcoming editions with Mexico set to host the 2023 edition.

As the 38th FIVB World Congress came to a close, eyes turned to the future as Phuket, Thailand was approved by acclamation as the host of the next FIVB World Congress in 2024. Following the approval of the Congress, Thailand Volleyball Association Vice President Thiti Pluckchaoom presented the plans for the 39th FIVB World Congress and thanked delegates for their support.
