Guangdong Evergrande return to the 2019 FIVB Club World Championship for a second time this year, after having picked up the bronze medal in their sole previous appearance in 2013 with a 3-1 win over Volero Zurich in the third-place playoff.
Established in 2009, Guangdong Evergrande won their only national title in 2012. They were silver medallists twice, in 2011 and 2013.
After dropping to the second division for a couple of seasons, Guangdong Evergrande returned to China's top flight finishing 8th in 2018 and 7th earlier this year.
They have also won a single Asian Club Championship in 2013.
