FIVB Secretary General Hugh McCutcheon recently presented the FIVB Strategic Vision 2032 to attendees of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Convention. He articulated the ambitious yet achievable roadmap to elevate volleyball’s global impact over the next eight years through its four core pillars: Professionalism, Integration, Empowerment, and Mass Participation. These guiding principles aim to make volleyball more accessible and impactful, uniting communities, inspiring societal change, and ensuring a brighter future for the sport.
In addition to his presentation, Mr McCutcheon and Finn Taylor, CEO of Volleyball World, met with a number of USA and international volleyball stakeholders and delivered a joint presentation focusing on the advancement of volleyball globally.
During the Convention, Mr McCutcheon was honoured with induction into the AVCA Hall of Fame at a banquet held in conjunction with the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship. This recognition completes a prestigious Hall of Fame trifecta for the FIVB Secretary General, who has now been inducted into the AVCA, USA Volleyball, and the International Volleyball Hall of Fames – an achievement shared by only eight coaches in the volleyball community.
“I am extremely grateful and truly honoured to be inducted into the AVCA Hall of Fame,” McCutcheon said. “Being selected and recognised by my coaching peers makes this even more special.”
Mr McCutcheon’s induction demonstrates his extraordinary contributions to volleyball, from grassroots development to elite competition. As FIVB Secretary General, he remains dedicated to advancing the Strategic Vision 2032, fostering collaboration and unity among stakeholders, and inspiring positive change across the global volleyball landscape.
