The FIVB has its seat in Lausanne, Switzerland and is organised in the legal form of a not-for-profit association. Through its governing institutions such as the Congress and the Board of Administration, the FIVB has established a legal framework which applies to volleyball activities globally. The FIVB Constitution is the supreme legal text of FIVB and any amendments thereto fall within the exclusive authority of the Congress.
The latest edition of the FIVB Constitution was approved by the Congress held in Porto, Portugal on 15 November 2024 and entered into force on 16 February 2025.
The FIVB Board of Administration is responsible for the enactment and update of the FIVB Regulations*.
