The FIVB Athletes’ Commission with support from the FIVB is proud to present “Beyond the Court” — a five-day in-person seminar designed to support volleyball and beach volleyball athletes as they transition from elite sport into the next stage of their professional journey.
Held on 6-10 October 2025 at the FIVB Volleyball House in Lausanne, Switzerland and developed in collaboration with the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), this seminar offers practical tools, expert insights, and networking opportunities that empower athletes to build meaningful and lasting careers beyond their playing days.
What Participants Can Expect

- Full support from FIVB, including international travel, accommodation, meals, and learning materials
Who Should Apply
The program is open to:
- Retiring or recently retired high-performance volleyball or beach volleyball athletes
- Individuals interested in roles in the volleyball industry, such as coaching, governance, administration, media, etc.
- Applicants representing National Federations active at the most recent FIVB World Congress
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum age: 18
- Proficient in English
- Experience at top level FIVB or Continental events
- No major disciplinary or legal issues
- Full availability for the programme duration
