The Spanish National Beach Volleyball Circuit visited Alicante (pictured in the main photo; source: @EspVoleyPlaya) last week. Top-seeded Ana Vergara & Nazaret Florian claimed the women’s trophy. In the gold medal game, they put together a 2-0 (21-15, 21-16) victory over the mixed Polish-Russian pairing of Agnieszka Adamek & Elena Sviridova. Another mixed duo took the bronze. The Estonian-Lithuanian team of Kadri Puri & Erika Kliokmanaite hammered out a 2-0 (21-17, 21-7) sweep of the third-place game against third-seeded Daniela Andreu & Elba Paez.
Daniel Moreno & Roberto Sanfelix topped the men’s podium in Alicante. The second-seeded pair mastered a 2-0 (21-19, 21-10) upset of bracket leaders Pablo Perez & Nathan Matos in the gold medal showdown. A three-set battle unfolded in the third-place match. The Ukrainian-Spanish team of Sviatoslav Karvatskyi & Isaac Levinson took the bronze after a 2-1 (17-21, 21-15, 15-7) comeback against Manuel de Amo & Jorge Pascual.
