Volleyball House marks World Volleyball Day with community celebration

Volleyball House opened its doors to the local community on World Volleyball Day, 7 July, bringing together Olympians, schoolchildren and volleyball fans for an afternoon of play in Lausanne.

French Olympians Téo Rotar and Arnaud Gauthier-Rat joined Latvian Olympians Tina Graudiņa and Anastasija Samoilova on court with children from local schools, local volleyball groups, and FIVB and Volleyball World staff to celebrate the global day dedicated to the sport.

The courts were busy throughout the afternoon as participants played together, exchanged tips, took part in friendly rallies and enjoyed the chance to meet some of the sport’s top athletes. Whether picking up a volleyball for the first time or returning to the court, everyone shared in the celebration.

The event reflected what World Volleyball Day is all about – bringing people together through volleyball and creating opportunities for communities to play, connect and enjoy the game together.

As celebrations took place around the world, Volleyball House was proud to welcome the local community to be part of the global movement and mark another memorable World Volleyball Day.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Lausanne. Get ready for 7 July 2027!
