The FIVB, World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and volleyball player Dmitry Ilinykh have signed a case resolution agreement according to which Mr Ilinykh admitted that the prohibited substance of Methylhexaneamine was found in his sample collected in-competition on 11 May 2013 during the Russian National Championships in Belgorod, Russia.
The case is part of investigations that the FIVB started after it had been provided by WADA with data and doping test samples collected from the Moscow Laboratory.
According to the case resolution agreement, the player admitted that he committed an anti-doping rule violation under Article 2.2 of the FIVB Medical and Anti-Doping Regulations 2013. As a result, he has been sanctioned with a period of ineligibility of fifteen (15) months starting on 26 August 2022 and ending on 25 November 2023.
The case resolution agreement was embodied by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in a consent award.
The FIVB is committed to protecting clean athletes and maintains a zero-tolerance approach to doping.
