Volleyball player Sara Paulina CantĂș Canobbio has been sanctioned with a four (4)-year period of ineligibility (from 24 August 2024) together with the disqualification of her competitive results (from 29 June 2024 to 24 August 2024), for the commission of an anti-doping rule violation.
The violation relates to the presence of the prohibited substance Nandrolone, detected in a sample collected in competition on 29 June 2024. This breaches Article 2.2 of the FIVB Medical and Anti-Doping Regulations.
The decision was rendered by the FIVB Disciplinary Panel and is final.
The FIVB reaffirms its commitment to the protection of clean athletes and the integrity of volleyball and continues to apply a zero-tolerance approach to doping.
